The day finally came. They were comfortable opening the door and releasing me back into the general population. They felt I was no longer a threat to public safety, and they no longer needed to protect the world from me.

I just had to wait for the doctor to give his okay. I was so anxious to leave, I had my bag packed, and I was standing in the doorway. I felt goodโ€”really good!

I don’t think I arrived home until late afternoon or early evening that day.

It was wonderful to finally be back in my home and back with my family. I was tired that evening, but I didn’t think too much of it. It wasn’t until the next day that I began to learn what life was going to be like and how much things had changed.

To be continued…
